About Onyxia's Lair
Onyxia's Lair is the original raid in Forever's first raid unlock. It is for 40 players, and it opens on 9 December, five weeks after launch, on the same day as the two new raids, Hyjal Summit and the Barrow Deeps.
Where it is. Warcraft Tavern's Forever raid guide puts it in Dustwallow Marsh.
The open question is attunement. In the original game, the Drakefire Amulet was the key to Onyxia's Lair, until a later patch removed the requirement. For Forever, nothing is settled: Warcraft Tavern lists its attunement as still to be announced. A Blizzard developer has said the new raids at launch need no attunement, but Onyxia's Lair is not a new raid, so that statement does not cover it.
For a group, this is the big one. 40 players is twice the size of Hyjal Summit. If an attunement does return, everyone in the raid will need it before the night, so watch for Blizzard's word on it before you set a date.
