What mrgl keeps about you, why, who else handles it, how long it stays, and how to take it back. It describes what the site actually does, and it changes when the site does.

Every guide, run, character and guild page can be read without an account. Reading sets no cookies, and nothing tracks you across other sites.

Steps you tick while signed out are kept in your own browser. They reach us only when you sign in, which adds them to your account.

We count page views with Vercel Web Analytics, which uses no cookies and counts visits in aggregate. When a search finds nothing, the words searched for are recorded, shortened and with nothing that says who typed them, because that is how we learn what to write next.

Signing in sets one cookie, which keeps you signed in for up to 30 days. The site cannot work without it, which is why there is no cookie banner.

From the service you sign in with, we keep your email address and the account ID it gives us. From an emailed link, that is your address; from Discord, your Discord ID, name and email; from Google, your name and email; from Battle.net, your account ID and BattleTag, and no email. We never keep a service's access tokens.

Characters: name, class, race, level, faction, region, ruleset and language. A character's last name is hidden unless you choose to show it.

Your ticked steps, the times you say you are free, what you queue for, the runs you post or join, the guilds you put up or join, and any report you send.

Public by design: character pages (first name, class, race, level, guild, runs, the players you have run with, and how many runs you have saved), guild pages and their rosters, and run pages and who is going. Your guild sees your progress only if you turn sharing on.

Private: your email address, your ticks unless you share them with your guild, your place in the queue, and any record of whether you turned up.

If the rest of a group says you missed a run without giving notice, that counts against your place in the queue for 30 days, and you may be asked to confirm runs sooner. Notice given in time never counts against you. Nobody else can see this record.

Vercel hosts the site and counts page views. Neon stores the database.

Resend sends sign-in links and group emails, if you use email.

Discord sends you direct messages if you sign in with Discord or get group alerts there. Public runs may also be posted in mrgl's Discord server.

Google and Battle.net, only to sign you in, and only if you choose them.

Cloudflare checks that you are human when you post a run or send a report, and sees your IP address to do it.

These services may handle data outside your country, including in the United States. We do not sell data, and we share nothing with advertisers.

To run your account and the features you use. That is the agreement between us when you sign up.

To keep the site safe and fair: limits on how fast anything can be sent, moderation, and the records that stop a ban being dodged. That is our legitimate interest in a site people can trust.

Anything you choose to show, such as a last name or progress shared with a guild, is your choice, and you can undo it at any time.

What you add stays while your account exists. Sign-in links expire after 24 hours, and the request counts behind rate limits are dropped within hours.

Deleting your account removes your email address, your sign-in methods, your ticks, your queue, your notifications and your places on runs, in one step. A guild you own passes to its highest-ranked member or is disbanded, and your upcoming runs are cancelled so the people on them are told.

Some things stay, because other people's history depends on them. A character you added remains as an unclaimed character, showing only its first name, class, race and level, because runs other players went on refer to it. Runs you organised in the past remain. A report you sent remains, without your name on it. Removing one character that has been on a run releases it the same way.

If your account had moderation strikes, we keep a one-way fingerprint of your email address, so a suspension cannot be dodged by signing up again: for a year after a suspension ends, and for as long as a ban lasts.

Copies in our hosts' backups and logs expire on their own schedules.

Download everything we hold, or delete your account, from your account page, at any time, without asking anyone.

Correct what you added by editing it. Turn off group alerts, hide a last name or stop sharing progress whenever you like.

If you are in the EU or the UK, you can also object to how we use your data, ask us to restrict it, or complain to your data protection authority.

Accounts are for people aged 13 and over. If you think a child has made one, tell us and we will remove it.

mrgl is a fan project run by one player. Your account page lets you download or delete everything we hold without asking anyone.
