About Excavation Site: Wetlands
Excavation Site: Wetlands is a new outdoor dungeon in the Wetlands. At BlizzCon, Blizzard described it only as "a mysterious excavation site above Whelgar's Excavation", which is why older guides give it other names. The name on this page is the one in Blizzard's beta notes.
The level band moved. Blizzard's table of 15 September listed it at 24–29. When it opened on the beta on 1 October, Blizzard's notes listed it at 26–31, and that is the band we use. Icy Veins' dungeon guide says 26–33. If a guide says 24–29, it was written before the change.
Finding the door. Icy Veins says the dungeon is on a path that starts just south of the Thelgen Rock cavern, in a part of the zone that was not open before.
Both factions have a reason to go. Icy Veins counts eight quests for it: five for the Alliance and three for the Horde.
Checked against its sources on 7 October 2026.
