Every new race and class combination in WoW: Forever

Six new combinations Blizzard named on stage, plus the Skyborne — whose class options depend on which faction you side with, and which needs a paid pack to play at all.

Know the six new combinations, in Blizzard's own words

From the Deep Dive panel recap, verbatim: "Gnome Priest, Human Hunter, Dwarf Shaman, Orc Mage, Troll Warlock, and Undead Paladin, with more planned for future updates."

Three Alliance, three Horde. If you see "Forsaken Paladin" written elsewhere, that is the same thing — Blizzard's own phrasing is "Undead Paladin".

Note that the list is explicitly not final

Blizzard's wording is "with more planned for future updates". So this is the launch set, not the eventual set — worth knowing if the combination you want is missing.

Choose your Skyborne's faction at character creation — not later

Blizzard's wording: "At character creation, you'll choose whether your Skyborne joins the Horde or the Alliance."

It is not a decision you grow into during the starting zone. It is made on the creation screen, before you play, and it decides which class you can be.

Check the Skyborne class split before you pick a faction

Blizzard's wording again: "Horde-aligned Skyborne embrace elemental traditions and gain access to the Shaman class, while Alliance-aligned Skyborne pursue the arcane legacy of their ancestors and gain access to the Mage class."

So if you have a class in mind, it decides your faction — not the other way round. Settle the class first.

Budget for the Skyborne — they are behind a paid pack

Playing a Skyborne character requires the Skyborne Heroic Pack or above. Blizzard's pre-purchase article lists "access to the new Skyborne race and Zephras Isle starting experience" as pack content.

An active subscription alone does not include them. If a Skyborne is your launch-night plan, that is a purchase, not a download.

If you are rolling PvP, check the reported faction lock first

PvP-ruleset accounts are reported to be faction-locked — only Horde or only Alliance on that ruleset.

If true, and if you want both a Horde and an Alliance character from the list above, the PvP ruleset will not let you have both. This is not confirmed by Blizzard, so verify before committing.
